Cape May Point Beach Patrol
Since its founding in 1910, the Cape May Point Beach Patrol has experienced continual improvement in terms of services provided, preventative lifeguarding tactics, quality of personnel, and competitive efforts. We are the smallest beach patrol in the South Jersey Lifeguard Chief’s Association, yet our performance is equal to that of any patrol. Below are the requirements to pass the lifeguard test.
Beaches will be guarded Saturday, June 15th through Monday September 2nd. Swim near a lifeguard!
2024 Junior Lifeguard Program
The Cape May Point Junior Guard Program will start July 2, 2024 and run for four (4) weeks until July 25th. The program will be Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, excluding July 4th. Please refer to the top of this page to obtain the application.
16th Annual Cape May Point Women's Lifeguard Challenge

This grueling all-women’s triathlon of the sorts will consist of a 1.3 mile soft sand run, 1 mile ocean paddle, and .5 mile ocean swim. Competitors are invited from beach patrols throughout New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and New York. It is a spectacular event and a grueling display of athletic ability and endurance. Start & Finish are on St. Pete's Beach...come check out a night of competition and fun!
2024 Lifeguard Tryouts
