Beach Tag Program Information

The Cape May Point Beach Tag Program has been in operation since 1972.  We provide a number of services on the beaches here at the Point. We sell daily, weekly, and seasonal beach tags to anyone 12 and over who wishes to gain access to our beaches from the 3rd Saturday in June through Labor Day while lifeguards are on duty.  In addition, we sell commercial tags to rental property owners who wish to provide them as an amenity to their renters. The tag program also offers free tags to veterans and active service members and their immediate families.  We also provide assistance and information to those who request it.

The Municipal Boundaries for Cape May Point Beaches are from the State Park (Lighthouse Avenue) up to and including the Alexander Avenue Jetty. Cape May Point Beach Tags are ONLY valid on our beaches and likewise, our tags are not accepted on other area beaches.

Beach Tag 2024 Update

The 2024 beach season is just around the corner.  The 2024 office hours for the purchase and pickup of seasonal and commercial tags are listed above.

Commercial Beach Tags for Rental Properties: For those looking to provide beach tags as an amenity at a rental accommodation, a commercial beach tag must be purchased. Regular seasonal beach tags are not valid when provided as part of a rental accommodation. If a rental accommodation provides regular seasonal beach tags instead of commercial beach tags, a property owner will lose their rental permit and will not be able to fulfill reservations. 

Commercial tags will be sold by the Beach Director or their designee. If you would like to save time when purchasing commercial tags, you can complete the Commercial Beach Tag Order Form and mail your check after April 15, 2024. Pre-Season Discounted Seasonal Tags (available through May 31st): The 2024 Beach Tag preseason reduced rate is $36.  Seasonal tags can be purchased directly from the manufacturer online using this link, (processing and shipping fees apply); you can also purchase tags during the month of May at Borough Hall during the days and times listed above. If you would like to send a check, please send it after April 15, 2024. Checks must be RECEIVED by May 31st to qualify for the reduced rate. We are not responsible for any delays caused by the mail carrier.  Prepaid seasonal tags can be picked up at the hours and locations listed at the top of this page.  In addition, they can be picked up Monday through Friday until 2:00 pm at the Borough Hall Reception Desk beginning May 1 through June 16.

2024 Beach Tag Rates

Daily, Weekly and Seasonal tags are sold by the Beach Taggers at each entrance. Children UNDER the AGE of 12 are FREE! 

Active Duty and Military Veterans Tag Program
Cape May Point provides free beach tags to active duty military and their immediate families. We also offer free tags to veterans in honor of their service to our country. These tags require proof of identification and are available only through the Beach Director or their designee at Borough Hall during the dates and times listed above.
